Here is the design that I've been slaving away at for a while now:
You can view the model in more detail here.
I chose to use Onshape for this project, mainly because it's free, and because it's web-based it is super convenient to switch between devices. I would do most of the modelling on my desktop, and then have the file open on my laptop when I'm in the garage.
The design is a simple bed slinger, trying to make it as basic as I can to give myself the best chance at actually making it work.
Since I'm making the printer out of wood (not the most consistent material in the world), I'm building my design around the metal idle rods. They should be quite straight and consistent, and will be what my rig will be moving on. The wood is just there to provide support, and I will not base any measurements off of it.
Some stuff is missing from the CAD model, like the shorter m3 screws or the timing belts, but I think that it's not necessary to put spend the time modelling them out. I already have a good enough understanding as to how everything will come together and what I'll need.
